Jungle of Doom was one of the six haunted houses that was featured during Halloween Horror Nights 13. This house was located in the Triceratops Discovery Trail.

History and Location[]

In 2003, Universal decided to have a haunted house (and scarezone) based on the idea of there being an undiscovered island with cannibalistic natives performing human sacrifice and resurrecting zombies.

The house would be located in the walkthrough attraction, Triceratops Discovery Trail, which was also used the previous year for a haunted house. The attraction was mostly outdoors and would bring guests through many wooded paths and various labs, one of which would contain a giant triceratops animatronic. The attraction would be located in the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure. The houses located in this attraction would mostly be outside, with a few rooms scattered about. Due to the linear nature of Islands of Adventure, this was designed to be the third haunted house guests would enter.

This would be the last house featured in this location.

In 2023, the zone would get a semi-sequel called Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror during Halloween Horror Nights 32. The zone would have a different story than the original house, and would tie into that year's icon Dr. Oddfellow.

Description[]

Face the curse of bloodthirsty zombies after trespassing on the ancient Burial Ground of Lost Souls, where even the pounding of tribal drums can't drown out your screams.

Experience[]

Queue and Facade[]

Guests would enter the queue through the entrance of Camp Jurassic. The queue would go through all of the areas of Camp Jurassic until eventually reaching the Triceratops Discovery Trail, where guests would enter the house. The facade was a giant archway made of bones.

Haunted House[]

Like all of the haunted houses in 2003, this house allegedly had 13 scenes.

The house would be set in a jungle and would feature cannibalistic island natives wearing loincloths. The entrance scene was a room lined with bones. You enter a room lined with cages. Inside a cage is a charred body bound hanging upside down with a scareactor banging on the cage.

There was also more blood and gore featured in this house than in the scarezone. The house had rooms where you pushed through hanging bodies, and lots of stages with scareactors on them. There were also some animatronics.

Scareactors[]

Trivia[]

  • Most of the scareactors wore headdresses.
