With two amusement parks full of rides and a number of soundstages between the parks, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando has found a number of locations to host their houses. Ride queues have always been used for mazes since the first Dungeon of Terror was built in the unopened JAWS queue. Soundstages were first used in 1992 and have been used for every year since 1995. Known for their greater detail, the event has grown to include four soundstage mazes each year. After 2002, three new buildings were built to hold mazes. The first walkthrough attraction used was the Bates Motel, a recreation of the motel from the film Psycho, while other attractions, like Poseidon's Fury and the Triceratops Discovery Trail have been used more recently. A number of other buildings, including a seasonal restaurant and storage buildings, have also been utilized, with each location offering a unique experience for guests.
